These are trying times for everyone. The downturn in the economy has effected all of us. War looms in many areas of the world. Our young people are being killed on foreign fields of battle. And lives, young and old, are being taken in our own homeland by the reckless use of weapons. The misuse of illegal and legal drugs is taking its toll in our land. What is the answer?
At the risk of sounding simplistic, there is an answer: LOVE. The best definition of God to me is this ... GOD IS LOVE. If we have love for one another ... those of other races, other religions, other cultures, other nationalities ... then the fighting and the killing will cease.
I'm not talking about the mushy love of a romance novel but better described as our accepting, and even tolerating if necessary, those we have great differences with ... racially, culturally, idealogically, theologically, economically, and educationally.
You see, every person on the face of the globe is a creation of God and as such, our brothers and sisters. We have got to come to that understanding or else civilization as we know it will self-destruct.
The planet is in peril. We have got to come to a mindset of including everyone as a member of God's Great Family and learning to live with our brothers and sisters on this small planet or else we will come to total oblivion at our own hands.
Let us all love one another . . .
